This house was built in 1988 for the Duke and Duchess of York, completed in 1990.
After the couple had split up, the Duke of York moved away in 2004, with the house being sold in 2007 to an Eastern European.
Since then, the beautiful house and grounds have been abandoned, and almost left to ruin...

G.S. Smart was founded in 1897 as a manufacturer of ornamental metalware in Birmingham. They use traditional metalworking skills in conjunction with modern techniques to design and develop a range of quality artistic metalware.
In 1984, the company was acquired by Metalrax Group PLC, a respected Birmingham based engineering group of over 20 operating companies. Since then, G.S.Smart has expanded into selling through home shopping outlets and has seen growth in the supply to retail stores.
They manufacture traditional and modern wrought iron furniture for the home, including tables, chairs, bedroom furniture, headboards and bedsteads and fittings.

I noticed this building from the main A45 heading into Birmingham, and decided to check it out.
It turned out to be the BSA motorcycle and Rifle factory built back in 1863, but is now left to decay with a car mechanics on the ground floor.

Progressive Engineering, based in the Jewelry quarter, Birmingham shut down many years ago leaving the building abandoned.
They specialised in small engineering and jewelry with several other small companies involved.

Well, with a bit of social engineering (I replied to an email about an open day :o) I managed to get into the Diamond light source in Didcot where they have the largest synchrotron/particle accelerator in the UK.

I believe this to be the remains of Crookham or Ewshot Camp south of Fleet/Church Crookham built in the 1900 for the Royal Field Artillary and Royal Army Medical Corps.

The Meridian TV studios were used up until about 5 years ago by TVS, and then Meridian/ITV until they scaled back their operations and the studios became redundant.
Over the years since it's closure, the site has been attempted a few times, but had very "on the ball" security and would follow you around with the moving cameras all around the site.
